Luce della Vite:
Lucente - A New Interpretation of Tuscany
The careful selection practiced in the production of Luce gives Lamberto Frescobaldi, enologist for Luce della Vite, the opportunity to take advantage of part of the harvest of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot in Tuscany for the production of Lucente, with grapes coming from the Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti Rùfina, and Chianti Colli Fiorentina DOCG's.
This interpretation of Tuscany uses 50% Merlot, 35% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon in the 2004 blend. The wine was then aged 12 months in barrel (60% new, 40% once used).
Using grapes from several regions allows Lamberto the flexibility to alter the amount of fruit from each region and grape variety each year to produce a very rich and dark wine, with layers of complexity. This is a very versatile wine that compliments not only Italian cuisine but a wide variety international fare.
Take a New York strip steak and sprinkle it with black pepper and garlic salt; grill it over a hot fire for six minutes on one side, then turn it over and sprinkle crumbled blue cheese on the steak and cook until the cheese melts, about four minutes. Take the steak off the grill and let it sit five minutes.
That's a new interpretation on dinner.
